Article Excerpt:

Left to right: Sarah Parker, Kim Mance, Margot Wallström (Vice President of the EU), Konda Mason & Eva GeorgiaOne of the things I liked best about my old job in DC was meeting really cool women leaders doing amazing work around the world. After my son's cancer relapse, I decided to work from home and, I've gotta be honest, it was tough to give up the excitement of working in politics and advocacy (and having cosmos with the VP of the European Union). Not only is his illness traumatic in itself, it's also tough to suddenly be at home so much. Ya know, seeing the light of day and all that. Losing wages was no picnic either.

The decision has paid off though, and my son has pulled through well, he can now attend school each day and we're in a good routine for his weekly chemo appointments. He even had a recent Make-a-Wish trip!

But I've been able to stay connected with a few of those super-awesome women through various projects.
